Debut Album Out Now

“There’s joy in saying: the album is officially complete, and I’m honored to share it with you. My debut album gave me the opportunity to go back to my roots, but also explore new possibilities with my voice and story. There was no roadmap, just an idea in 2022. Slowly, but surely each piece started to feel like one natural cohesive trail. Throughout this process, I was not only able to gain a sense of belonging, but embrace a sound and practice I had abandoned and forgotten for years. In doing so, I realized that in order to serve others' visions as a composer; authentically and wholeheartedly, I first had to fill my own cup. While the track list veers off into fantasy at times, I acknowledged that it needed to also be grounded in reality; a sub-creation that honors the myth that came true. In a post-Enlightenment world, where joy and purpose are often stripped away, we long to serve a story greater than ourselves. I believe we were each made for that. That is why we identify, find fulfillment in fiction and want to revel in it as much as we can. This album is my invitation to do just that, to think, to feel, and to sit.” - Irlanya
